Every individual has a unique physiological makeup, and thus requires a personalized diet plan for maximum weight loss. At Plaza Aesthetics, we work with each client to create a diet plan that works for their body type and weight loss goals. Here are a few types of diet plans we offer.
SEMAGLUTIDE FOR WEIGHT LOSS
Semaglutide is an injectable weight loss drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for chronic obesity management in individuals who are overweight or obese.
The drug, initially developed as a diabetes medication, is not a stimulant and should not be confused with amphetamine-class drugs like phentermine.
How does semaglutide work?
Semaglutide mimics GLP-1, a hormone released after eating that stimulates insulin production. With GLP-1 as its active ingredient, semaglutide is an effective appetite suppressant at the right dosage.
How effective is semaglutide for weight loss?
According to current research, semaglutide is a highly-effective weight loss medication, especially compared to its peers.
Should I take semaglutide?
Injections are recommended for patients who are currently overweight or obese and are looking for a safe way to lose weight faster. Taking semaglutide is perfectly normal and non-habit forming. If you struggle with your weight and acknowledge the risk of weight-related health problems, starting with semaglutide is the right thing to do for yourself and your family.
Patients with a history of pancreatitis and some cancers should steer clear of the drug. Feel free to contact us about side effects, and be sure to cosult with your Primary Care Physician (PCP).
How do I get started?
Contact us at (713) 804-3747 to find out if semglutide is right for you or if you have any questions regarding referrals from your primary care physician.
We look forward to helping you add semaglutide as part of an effective diet and exercise program for healthy, lasting weight loss!
Diet With Medication – Phentermine
Phentermine is a great tool to jump-start weight loss and decrease appetite. The drug is an amphetamine-like prescription medication used to suppress appetite and support weight loss by making individuals feel full longer.
Common side effects of phentermine include increased heart rate, tingling or prickling feeling in the hands or feet, dry mouth, sleeplessness, nervousness, and constipation. The drug is not recommended for patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid gland, or glaucoma.
Our phentermine program includes a 30-day prescription and two visits with our nutritionist. The drug is intended to be used as part of an overall weight loss plan by individuals who are obese and who have failed to lose enough weight with diet and exercise alone. The phentermine program is not intended for those who would like to lose a few pounds.
Each client will work with a nutritionist to develop healthy eating habits, track progress, and make adjustments as necessary.
