Laser Hair Removal (FOREVER BBL™- Forever Bare)

Laser hair removal with the Forever BBL™ device is a medical treatment that uses a concentrated beam of light (or laser) to remove unwanted hair.

During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (or melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the hair follicles that produce hairs. This damage stops or delays future hair growth.

Laser hair removal is done to eliminate unwanted hair on the legs, armpits, back, chin, chest, and the bikini area.

The success of laser hair removal depends on hair color and skin type. The laser targets the pigment of the hair, but not the pigment of the skin, to absorb the light. The laser should only damage the hair follicle, leaving the skin unharmed. Therefore, a contrast between hair and skin color — dark hair and light skin — is best for optimal outcome.

Little contrast between hair and skin color creates the risk of damage to skin, but advances in laser technology have made laser hair removal an option for people with darker skin.

Clients will need to attend an initial consultation with a trained skin care professional to discuss their goals. During the consultation, the medical professional will review the client’s medical history, medication use, history of skin disorders or scarring, and past hair removal procedures.

During the procedure, clients may experience mild discomfort that feels like getting snapped with a rubber band. Overall, the procedure is well-tolerated and the level of discomfort depends on individual preferences.

BBL™ laser hair removal is permanent. As soon as the hair follicle is destroyed, it is unable to produce new hair. It’s important to note that this treatment is only effective on actively growing hair. Follicles not in the active growing phase during treatment will continue to grow hair, requiring a subsequent visit.

As with all hair removal treatments, permanent hair removal requires a series of BBL™ Forever Bare treatments. Most clients will need between six to eight treatments to see full results.

Treatments are spaced four to eight weeks apart, depending on the body part being treated. The face, bikini, and underarms require four weeks, and all other areas require eight weeks.
